Why people start with us

A conveyancing matter is one of the biggest transactions you will sign for. Here is how we keep it clear.

Queensland Law Society solicitors

Every matter is handled by a QLS-member independent solicitor. All legal work and advice is provided by the independent Queensland Law Society-member solicitor you engage.

Fixed-fee clarity

independent Solicitors quote a fixed professional fee for routine matters. Government charges, searches and transfer duty are set out separately, in writing, before you commit.

Electronic settlement

Settlements are completed online through PEXA (the digital platform used to lodge documents and transfer ownership), so the process is faster and more transparent.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does conveyancing cost in Brisbane?
Professional fees for a routine Brisbane conveyance are typically a few hundred to around a thousand dollars, and many solicitors offer a fixed-fee quote. Government charges and disbursements such as title searches and registration are additional and vary by property. Always confirm in writing what is included before you engage anyone.
What does a conveyancer do when buying a house in Queensland?
They review your contract, carry out title and property searches, advise on conditions and dates, arrange transfer duty, liaise with your lender and the other side, and manage settlement so ownership transfers correctly. In Queensland this is legal work, so a Queensland Law Society-member solicitor carries it out.
How long is the cooling-off period in Queensland?
Most residential contracts in Queensland have a 5 business day cooling-off period, starting when you receive the contract signed by both parties. It does not apply to property bought at auction. A penalty of up to 0.25% of the purchase price may apply if you terminate during cooling-off.
What is the First Home Owner Grant in Queensland?
The Queensland First Home Owner Grant is currently $30,000 towards an eligible new home valued under $750,000, for contracts signed between 20 November 2023 and 30 June 2026. It is scheduled to revert to $15,000 from 1 July 2026. Eligibility rules apply, so confirm your situation with a solicitor.
